The New Picket is not far from Lime
Street station, near Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral on the banks of the
River Mersey, 2 mins from Liverpool’s new Concert and Arena venue -
opened January 2008.
From
Lime Street turn left out of station, go past the Adeplhi on your left, past
Lewis’s department store on your right, continue along Ranelagh
Street.
Head in the direction of Chinatown, go along Berry Street- up to
the Chinese Arch, which will appear, on your right, straight ahead past the
huge Anglican Cathedral on your left.
Continue past houses on your right
with 'red doors' on the exterior of the building- its art!! Look for Cains
brewery on Parliament Street to your right.
Turn right onto Parliament
street- your heading towards the River Mersey now.
Turn right at Cains
Brewery onto Jamaica Street, (Cains is a huge Victorian building on the
junction of Parliament street and Jamaica Street). Second left off Jamaica
Street onto New Bird Street- the entrance to the venue is there.
Alternatively 5-10 minutes in a cab.

For visitors from outside Liverpool,
hotels positioned adjacent to the River Mersey include the Campanile, Dolby,
the more pricey Radisson, Crowne Plaza, Malmaison. Also there is a Youth hostel
nearby.
